New Gameboy Emulator for Unix A group of three French students have banded together to write a Gameboy emulator for Unix. This is still in the early stages and DOS and BeBox ports are planned as well. It's called "Boycott". NES and Sega Master System emulators are also in the works.

Callus Ignition 1.0 Released Alessandro Viganò has released version 1.0 of his Windows 95 front end for Callus. This new release includes Zip support.

CPC++ 1.4.0 for Mac Released! Brice Rive has just released version 1.4.0 of his Amstrad CPC emulator for Macintosh. Version 1.4.0 is a major upgrade with many bug fixes and new features:

Prometheus Truecolor Graphics Utility Gaffer has released version 0.61 of his truecolor graphics library PTC. This new release has a lot of bugfixes including the following:

PTC is a truecolor graphics system for C programmers used to develop emulators, games and other graphical apps. Versions are available for both DOS and Win32 platforms.

System 16 Release Date Announced Here's some great news for System 16 fans: Li Jih Hwa has announced a preliminary release date for the next version of System 16:

"We also expect to release the next version of System 16 emulator during the first week of February."

A lot of new features will be available in this next release, including support for Alien Syndrome, Super Hang-On and Out Run, and save game and joystick support. Thanks to Jeff Warmuth for the e-mail.

Vic20 Emulator 0.7 Specs Announced Matthew Browne has announced specifications for version 0.7x of his Vic 20 emulator. Here's what we have to look forward to in the next release(s):

iNES ver 0.7.6 for Macintosh Released! John Stiles has updated his Macintosh port of iNES:

"iNES is now compatible with Punch-Out, Dragon Warrior 3, Dragon Warrior 4, Worldrunner 3D and more! Speed is improved, and the Mac OS 8 Appearance Manager is also integrated into this new version."

EX68 0.21 Released! X68 version 0.21 has been just been released. From what I hear, the FM sound is now very close to the original system. Also, Dragon Spirit is greatly improved - many graphics bugs have been fixed.

madNES Progress Report Less than two weeks ago, Roberto Rosario released version 0.95 of his NES emulator for DOS. Work for the follow-up release is progressing nicely. Vertical clipping of individual scanlines and partial support for split screens has already been added, along with improvements to the GUI. Roberto has also hinted that in the future, madNES may be ported to other platforms, though nothing is in the works for now.

UltraMAME Thierry Imbert has updated his M.A.M.E. front end. It now supports all the new games in M.A.M.E. version 0.30.

PSEmu ver 0.2.1 Released! Duddie has just released version 0.2.1 of his Sony Playstation emulator! This release should be far more stable than previous releases, especially when playing 3-D games. Also, Tomb Raider II now loads.

TwinBee 3 Translation Patch Updated Neo Demiforce has updated their translation patch for TwinBee 3 to version 1.02. The screen layout has been fixed so it should look better than before. Thanks to Bjorn Astrom for the e-mail.
